Shangrila BoracayShangri-La' s Boracay Resort and Spa
Due to open at the end of 2008, Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa will bring new dimensions in luxury and leisure to this fabulous tropical destination, with a classic yet contemporary architectural style infused with local cultural influences.
Located in the northern part of Boracay Island, the resort's secluded setting enjoys 350 metres of pristine beachfront and 12 hectares of grounds that are home to a number of interesting and rare wildlife species.
Boracay is a short 45-minute flight south of Manila, with a further 30-minute combined land-and-sea transfer time between Caticlan airport and the resort. If you're flying to Kalibo airport, expect another 90-120 minute drive to Caticlan port before taking a boat to the Shangri-La Boracay Island.
Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa features 219 spacious guest rooms and villas, all finely furnished and finished with ethnic Filipino decor and native materials.
Each room connects to a balcony where guests can relax and take in panoramic views of the world-famous beach.
Deluxe rooms measure 60 square metres, and villas from 108 to 220 square metres.
Villas include private lap pool, outdoor shower, a pergola for outdoor dining, and a day bed for relaxation or massage.
The jewel of the resort for relaxation is the 5,714 square-metre CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La.
This signature spa employs a host of treatments based on Chinese and Himalayan healing concepts.
Located on a rock peninsula looking out over a private bay, the detached spa village complex is designed to be a sanctuary within the resort.
Facilities will include deluxe villas for half or full-day use, and smaller suites for hourly treatments.
A spa pool will be set within the landscaped garden. Recreational facilities such as outdoor tennis courts, a free-form swimming pool, health club and marine centre with diving facilities will also be available.
Planned and designed in accordance with the highest eco-friendly global standards for top-class resorts, Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa lies within one of the country's peaceful nature reserves.
Over 36 species of bird and fruit bat make their home here, and guests will be able to enjoy walks along nature trails, while appreciating the abundant flora and fauna. We aim to protect the existing wildlife in the area as part of our corporate social responsibility commitment.
